  • 1/4 cup soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon fresh ginger (grated)
  • 1 lb sirloin steak (cut into cubes)
  • 1 small onion (chopped)
  • green onion (for garnish (optional))

  1. In a small bowl, combine the soy sauce, brown sugar, and grated ginger. Mix well until the sugar dissolves.
  2. Heat a large skillet over medium-high heat. Once hot, sear the steak cubes for about 3-4 minutes on each side until they develop that flavorful brown crust. Remove the beef and set aside.
  3. Add the chopped onions to the skillet and cook them for 2-3 minutes until they soften and turn translucent.
  4. Add the soy sauce mixture and stir until combined.
  5. Add your beef back to the skillet and stir to combine with the onions.
  6. Simmer for another 3-4 minutes until it thickens slightly and the flavors meld together.
  7. Garnish with chopped green onions and serve hot over rice, noodles, or your favorite vegetables.
