Ingredients

  • 1 cup ground beef
  • 1 teaspoon pepper
  • 1 teaspoon seasoning salt
  • ¼ cup onions (chopped)
  • 1 tablespoon BBQ seasoning
  • 6 egg roll wrappers
  • 3 slices American cheese (or cheddar)
  • 6 pickle slices (chopped)
  • 3 bacon slices (cooked and crumbled)
  • ¾ cup vegetable oil (for frying)

  1. Combine ground beef, pepper, seasoning salt and diced onions in a medium skillet.
  2. Cook the ground beef on medium heat until cooked through and completely brown. Drain the excess fat.
  3. Add the BBQ seasoning to the cooked meat and onions and mix together.
  4. Add a little bit of water to a small dish or bowl. One at a time place egg roll wrapper on a flat surface and wet the edges of the square all the way around with a little water. This will help seal it when rolling together later.
  5. Lay half a slice of cheddar or American cheese in the center of the wrapper diagonally.
  6. Place a heaping two tablespoons of cheeseburger egg roll filling mixture on top of the cheese.
  7. Top with about a teaspoon each of the chopped pickles and crumbled bacon.
  8. Take one corner of the egg wrapper and fold the moistened corner facing the parallel opposite corner just far enough to cover the mixture. Press the wrapper down, molding it around the filling.
  9. Take the right and left corners of the square and bring them both to the center, again pulling far enough to cover the filling and molding around the rest of the egg roll.
  10. Then just roll the egg roll forward until the wrapper is completely wrapped around and sealed to the egg roll. Place the filled egg roll on a baking sheet and continue wrapping the rest.
  11. Heat frying oil in a large skillet on medium high heat. Once you see the heat waves in the oil, turn down to medium heat.
  12. Fry egg rolls in the pan in the hot oil for about 1 to 1 1/2 minutes on each side or until golden brown on both sides. The cheeseburger filling should be nice and warm.
  13. Remove from the pan and drain any excess oil. Serve with your favorite dipping sauce!
