Thanksgiving Recipes to Save Before November
Every year the same thing happens. Some time in early November you start seeing Thanksgiving content, you save a dozen posts, and on the Tuesday before the holiday you cannot find the one with the good gravy.
The fix is not a better memory. It is collecting early, while the recipes are being published, and keeping them somewhere you can search.

What makes a Thanksgiving collection different
- You are planning a menu, not a meal. Mains, sides, the pie and whatever your family argues about all have to coexist, which is why one place beats three apps.
- Tag by the role a dish plays, not where you found it. "Side" and "make-ahead" are what you search on the day; "saved from Instagram" is not.
- Make-ahead is the whole game. Most of the stress on Thursday is doing sequentially what could have been done on Tuesday, so note what keeps.
- Creators edit and delete. A post you saved in September may be gone in November, which is the argument for saving the recipe rather than a bookmark.
How to build it
- Collect now without judging. Save anything plausible over the next few weeks.
- Do one editing pass in mid-November, once you know numbers and who is not eating what.
- Write down what you changed last year. By year three it is worth more than the recipe.
- Check what can be made ahead before you shop, not the morning of.
Frequently asked questions
When should I start saving Thanksgiving recipes?
September or October. Most Thanksgiving content publishes from early autumn, and the posts you find now are frequently buried or gone by the week you need them. Collecting early also leaves time for a proper editing pass.
How do I keep a recipe if the creator deletes the post?
Save the recipe itself rather than a bookmark to the post. Once the ingredients and method are in your own cookbook they stay there, and the link back travels with them for as long as the original exists.
What is the best way to organise a holiday menu?
Tag by the role a dish plays in the meal, such as main, side or make-ahead, rather than by where you found it. On the day you search by role, never by source.
